One of our many passions is ensuring that as much timber as possible is reused / reclaimed along our shore lines.
These projects demonstrate how this can be achieved.
Southend Council are one of the leading local authorities in striving to achieve this.
We provided their contractor, Volkerwessel UK, with piles and groyne boards to construct a new groyne.
The piles were reclaimed from Southampton Docks, the groyne boards cut from timbers originally from Portsmouth Harbour.
We also provided the piles to support the new disabled access ramp down to the beach at Westcliff, sourced from Falmouth.
